I guess i'm more corresponding with my friends on facebook, blogging is not my thing really,or i guess it would be more interesting to write if something exciting was going on.We just work all the time,we're no fun...
Anyhow,Brett and i have been on a pretty strict diet.Brett has kind of a high blood pressure, and i have had high blood sugar for about 3 months. So,i've been taking classes on diabetes to help me understand the whole thing a little better and to learn about nutrition.I have to really measure my food portions and watch the carbs.I've tried some things that i never thought i would like. Some of the healthy foods i wouldn't recommend to anyone, but on the other hand there's some things that i've enjoyed so far...,like

  • WHOLE GRAIN PASTA - love it!Have to tell you...i almost enjoy it more than white pasta.
  • BROWN RICE - same thing.Love it more than white rice.I like how it's almost crunchy when you cook it.
  • TURKEY BACON - still not the best choice, but lower in calories, sodium and fat.Tastes pretty good.
  • QUINOA - (a grain-like crop grown primarily for its edible seeds. It is a pseudocereal rather than a true cereal, or grain, as it is not a grass).I make quinoa pilaf with some vegetables as a side-dish,and it's yummi. You can also have as a cereal, but i haven't tried it that way yet.I get it at "Good Earth",but i hear they start to have it elsewhere.
  • FAT FREE COTTAGE CHEESE - i find it delicious only when i mix it with fresh fruit or some salsa.
Just some of the things from my "healthy" list.I've been actually feeling a lot better eating what i'm suppose to.We both lost some weight and i manage to keep my blood sugar on average levels and Brett's high blood pressure seems to be lower.
We've been doing pretty good, except it's kinda hard to come up with easy healty recipes.
Any suggestions for us?

It seems i haven't been able to find a time to write since we came back from Croatia.Yes,we finally went back and visit for 3 weeks!!We were planning on going in September, but unfortunately, under very sad circumstances we were forced to leave earlier.I am very sad to notify all of you who haven't heard yet that my Dad has past away on May 17th.We got there just before the funeral on the 22nd.He died in his sleep and person who did autopsy said that it happened quickly and that my Dad didn't feel any pain. The aorta in between neck and heart got clogged.
I have to tell you how glad i am that my Dad visited us here about 2 yrs ago and he spent time with us.He painted our whole house on the outside and i was just amazed. My Dad was type of the person who always thought about everybody else but himself. He was very unselfish, very giving, very friendly to everybody, such a hard worker.I will always be thankful to him for teaching me to have respect for other people and to be friendly. He always was very positive and he liked to make jokes. He loved his family and i enjoyed seeing him get close to my husband. They had fun together.
My Dad liked to draw,be creative with everything. He worked with marble and granite. He loved animals and liked watching wild life documentaries more than anything on tv.He absolutely loved outdoors.
I am sure he loves it where he is right now, because it is a better place.I am so grateful for my knowledge of what happens after this life.I miss my Dad,but i know i will enjoy his company some day
again.

Just in case anyone was wondering...

We are doing good.I realized i haven't been blogging for a while,but here i am.Let's see...
Here are some pics from Disneyland when we went in March.Brett's Mom was having surgery at the time and we wanted to go see her(didn't really think we would make it to Disneyland).I think she felt bad for us to come all the way to see her and she bought us tickets. We are so spoiled!!We were at Disneyland last August! It was way fun though...Thanks,Mom!

That was the fun part...
I have to skip from then to last Monday when i found out my blood sugar is high and i was told from my doctor that i'm pre-diabetic,meaning my blood sugar is high, but not high enough to be considered diabetic.I am on medicine right now that helps me lower blood sugar,we started exercising and eating better and i feel like i have so much more energy.I haven't had any treats at all for about two weeks now.The only treat i have some mornings is protein bar.It is kind of hard not having desserts sometimes, but being healthy is so much more important. If anyone has some good tips about healthy nutrition, please let me know...
Have a Happy Mother's Day everyone!!

Check it out!

I spend so much time on computer that it's not even funny. It would be alright if it is of any use to me,but it's not. It's sad to say,but it is usually only Facebook. So,i decided to find some other websites to draw my attention, and so i did...
I love,love,love
  • amazon.com - not only that i love shopping, but it is so easy to find what you want.Prices are great, huge selection of everything and in many cases - free shipping.I often buy shoes, because i can find my size easy, for a change.check it out!
  • couponmom.com - printable coupons for everything.Very cool!I couldn't believe you can save so much money.
  • www.hr - tells me everything i want to know about Croatia,since i'm far away.It is a good source of news,history,weather...etc.
  • foodnetwork.com - even though i find different recipe websites, this is the one i use the most.My favorite chef is Alton Brown.Do you watch his shows?
If there's any fun sites i'm missing out,let me know, please.I hope you find these interactive as i do.

So,we put up our jeep for sale about a week ago and it is...SOLD!We feel lucky knowing that some people can wait for someone to call for a longer period of time.We got more than we owe on it ,so most of the money went towards to paying it off. So,now we are jeep debt free.Woo-hoo!I am actually kind of sad, though, but there is some things that i am NOT going to miss about it.Not being very roomy was enough for me to decide to put it up for sale. The front seats were fine but i always felt bad for someone who had to ride with us.Back seats were possibly ok for kids, but there is not enough room for a grown up.
And i'm not going to miss it simply because we got this...

TA-DA!Pretty sweet, huh?!I just love it!Very comfortable, very roomy, seats 6 people, and we got a excellent deal on it!Important thing - payments are lower!And...,it is not even bad on gas.We got lucky selling jeep and finding this truck that i think that something will go wrong in the future, but i'd rather stay optimistic.

Just a short Valentine's review...

Brett and i were planning to go to Park City that morning, but, unfortunately,it started snowing and we decided to stay and have lunch at Macaroni Grill in Provo.I'm glad we did the lunch,b/c i bet it was crazy for dinner time.I had pasta with shrimp and prosciutto, and as weird as combination sounds,it was so delicious!!Brett had rib-eye steak and said it was the best he ever had.We shared tiramisu for dessert.Oh,it's probably one of our favorite kind of cake, and i have to brag and say i'm pretty good in making those myself. After nice time at the restaurant we haded to theater and Brett let me choose the movie. We saw He's just not that into you,and we both liked it.Very cute and funny and i fully recommend.
Thank you, hubby, for making me feel special!I love you!!
