I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! One of Brett's uncles invited us over to his place to spend time with him and his family.Oh man, there was so much food to eat and everything was delicious!I tried yams once again and after couple of bites i'm done,i just can't get use to the taste, and Brett loves yams big time!!I think my favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner is all different kinds of pies and my very favorite one is lemon merengue.Brett loves pumpkin pie,and i'm fairly good in making those but again,i can get use to the taste.Anyways,we ended up playing fun game all night and i loved the Sequence game(i might get us one at amazon.com,i found a good deal!)
I also made something that we usually make in Croatia for a dessert, but you can really eat it anytime.I just made some so family can try and they liked it.It's called FRITULE,and here's the recipe that i used...

1 6-8 oz YOGURT or SOUR CREAM (try different flavors of yogurt)
2 WHOLE EGGS
1/3 CUP of SUGAR
3 CUPS of FLOUR
PINCH of SALT
1/3 CUP VANILLA EXTRACT
1/2 TBSP of BAKING POWDER

Mix with the wooden spoon. Continue mixing until the dough stops sticking to the wooden spoon.
When the oil is hot enough (test by dropping in a small piece of the batter, which should sizzle, but not burn), drop in the batter by well-rounded 1/2 tablespoon measures. You will have to dip the measuring spoon in water between spoonfuls of batter to clean it off. You may also have to coax the batter off the spoon.Do not overcrowd the frying pot. Ensure the fritters are turned so that all sides are golden. When browned, transfer with a slotted spoon to paper towels, let cool slightly, then roll in powdered sugar. Arrange on a serving platter.
