Well,we found out that is a major procedure!!First of all,i have to get my birth certificate in Croatia so they can change my last name on it,then i have to notarize our marriage certificate and take it to SLC for apostille(a certification. It is commonly used in English to refer to the legalization of a document for international use under the terms of the 1961 Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents. Documents which have been notarized by a notary public, and certain other documents, and then certified with a conformant apostille are accepted for legal use in all the nations that have signed the Hague Convention.).Since there's only 1 person that can do this in Utah(and it takes more than couple of months)i'm going to have to send this to my dear Mom(she is going to be busy),so she can translate this to Croatian and then take care of my birth certificate.She has to send this back to me and then with copies of both of our passports and ID,and bunch of forms we have to send it back to LA,and wait...probably for a while.Then,when i receive my documents, i have to send a written letter and forms and copies of things back to LA in order to receive my passport,which could take up to 2 months!!So,we are not going to see Croatia for a while,unfortunately!!I wish this could've been done easier,but,believe me,we tried!Don't you just love paperwork?!We have had so much of it already that i get a headache just thinking about it!
Anyways,just thought i'd share this with you.We get asked often if we are still planning on going,and i believe some people think that we made to Croatia and back already.Please,just pray for us!:)

I am not sure if you read my blog in that time, but my passport took almost 9 months to get it.
I had the same kind of procedure (but of course not exactly the same kind since I still live in Europe).
I just really know how you feel now, but at least you could work, I was not even allowed to work within that time.
But, let us hope that they will make yours faster.

Man I'm getting a headache just thinking about it. Don't you hate how they have to make everything as hard as possible?! I'm sorry you have to go through that. Good Luck!
No! I'm so sad for you. I can't believe it takes all of that to get a simple passport.
