So,we got a Christmas Tree after all...

Brett and i were debating whether to get it or not,but we decided there can't be a Christmas Spirit without it.It is a bit smaller than the last year's one,but it doesn't matter.Brett put the lights on Friday night and i helped put all the decorations up.We usually listen to some Christmas music and enjoy some hot chocolate while doing it.So,here's the tree all lighted up and decorated...
Oh,and by the way,my hubby is a total Star Wars geek(i still love him, thoug ;)) and Christmas tree wouldn't be a Christmas tree without some Star Wars ornaments...

Monday night

Brett took me to basketball game tonight,he got some tickets at work and we invited one of his mission companions and his wife to come with us.It was fun,it's been a while for me since i was at the basketball game.Brett and i both like basketball, though. It was Utah Flash that played (one of the NBA Development leagues),and some of the players were really good.Brett might get some more tickets in the future, and if we happen to have some extras,we'll let you all know.

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! One of Brett's uncles invited us over to his place to spend time with him and his family.Oh man, there was so much food to eat and everything was delicious!I tried yams once again and after couple of bites i'm done,i just can't get use to the taste, and Brett loves yams big time!!I think my favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner is all different kinds of pies and my very favorite one is lemon merengue.Brett loves pumpkin pie,and i'm fairly good in making those but again,i can get use to the taste.Anyways,we ended up playing fun game all night and i loved the Sequence game(i might get us one at amazon.com,i found a good deal!)
I also made something that we usually make in Croatia for a dessert, but you can really eat it anytime.I just made some so family can try and they liked it.It's called FRITULE,and here's the recipe that i used...

1 6-8 oz YOGURT or SOUR CREAM (try different flavors of yogurt)
2 WHOLE EGGS
1/3 CUP of SUGAR
3 CUPS of FLOUR
PINCH of SALT
1/3 CUP VANILLA EXTRACT
1/2 TBSP of BAKING POWDER

Mix with the wooden spoon. Continue mixing until the dough stops sticking to the wooden spoon.
When the oil is hot enough (test by dropping in a small piece of the batter, which should sizzle, but not burn), drop in the batter by well-rounded 1/2 tablespoon measures. You will have to dip the measuring spoon in water between spoonfuls of batter to clean it off. You may also have to coax the batter off the spoon.Do not overcrowd the frying pot. Ensure the fritters are turned so that all sides are golden. When browned, transfer with a slotted spoon to paper towels, let cool slightly, then roll in powdered sugar. Arrange on a serving platter.

I'M GOING TO LEARN!!!

Oh,my...Brett likes to read more than anybody i've ever met,and i am not a big reader myself. We go to the "Borders" or "Barnes & Nobles" quite often.I go through several magazines, while Brett is still reading one thing. It drives me crazy, because he is totally into it and does not pay attention to anything, forgets to do stuff and never, ever hears what i say...but this is to post some other time.
Anyways,i actually found something for myself in the bookstore today...it's a booklet that teaches you how to knit!!Yeah!!Brett made fun of me because this booklet was meant to be for kids, but who cares...and,plus,it was only $2.99!Wanting to learn how to knit has been on my wish list for a while and i always missed opportunity when i had someone to teach me.Hopefully i'll have something fun done soon.
